Well known to all who sail the Great Lakes, the USCG Ice Breaker Mackinaw, too large to fit through the St. Lawrence Seaway, she's a virtual prisioner of the Lakes. In service since World War 2, she'll soon be retired and replaced. This was the first time I had seen her with her hull painted red, it's always been white. But now she matches the other USCG Ocean Ice Breakers.
