The pictures here are highlights of summer training aboard YP-671 in Chicago. Evolutions run from a weekend to a week or ten days in duration. All training is hands on, the cadets are THE crew and they work under supervision. It is important to understand that the ship has supervisory personnel, but the cadets themselves are expected to work together as the ship's crew. The year 2000 saw many "firsts" aboard. the first all-female cadet shipboard training and the first Navy League Cadet (11-13 year old) shipboard training. As time as gone on, our program has grown, reaching into NSCC Region 7, specifically to the Inaugural Division out of St. Louis. We also received inquiries from as far away as Massachusetts. Cadet are not limited by their NSCC Region. ALL are welcome aboard and we hope to see cadets from all over the United States sail with us.
