"Building a Great Seagoing Tradition On The Great Lakes"
Marine Navigation and Training Association
MANATRA, is a Chicago based organization made up of volunteers from different backgrounds and various skills who share two common interests. These are pride in America's maritime heritage, and the importance of training today's youth for tomorrow's service in the military and merchant marine.

The association's flagship, formerly the YP-671, a yard patrol vessel of the U.S. Navy is docked near Monroe Harbor in Chicago. It is used for the purpose of training sea cadets, sea scouts and other youth interested in seamanship and leadership.

MANATRA supports and works closely with the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps, which is the youth program sponsored by the Navy League of the United States, a civilian volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the U.S. Navy and Merchant Marine.

MANATRA is a private, Illinois not-for-profit association organized in 1946 that received no government ot public subsidies. For more information on membership, training programs or making a tax deductible donation please send an e-mail to us at:
